My image of the frozen St Joseph Lighthouse spread through social media channels over the last few days and was picked up by most of the big news corps. I was interviewed by and or contacted by CNN,BBC,USATODAY,BUZZ FEED,MASHABLE, etc... It's been an interesting couple of days to say the least! The town of St Joseph where this shot was taken got put in the spotlight for a bit, as did I by getting close to 2000 new "likes" on my facebook page, and 50,000 new visitors to my website! :)

Approaching Lake effect snow squalls darken the sky at St. Joseph Lighthouse. I had to crawl on my stomach to get around the edge of the inner Light , for a shot the ice encased outer. There was a rope tied to the structure which I tied around my waste, and untied once I reached the other side. It's about a four foot wide sloped section, 25 feet or so that you have to get across,it is extremely slippery.

This was taken above Upper Canyon Falls.. A little side story, 30 years ago or so (wow I'm getting old).. I slipped and fell into this river and went over a waterfall .. When I climbed out of the pool below the falls coughing up water, I looked behind to see my wife and brother going over the falls.. They thought I intentionally did this and that it looked like fun.
