"Lightkeepers Path" South Manitou Island Lighthouse Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

I thought this was sort of an interesting perspective of the Lighthouse; the little pathway that's becoming overgrown, leading to the entrance door at the base of the tower.

"Evening Light" South Manitou Island Lighthouse Michigan's SleepingBear Dunes National Lakeshore

This is a fascinating little Island with some very interesting history. My wife and I backpacked out there for two nights..pitched our tent on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.

"Graveyard Shoals" Wreck of the SS Francisco Morazan, South Manitou Island Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

This was an eery scene watching the sunset at this shipwreck ... those BIRDS! like something out of a Hitchcock film. The ship was caught in a late November snowstorm and she was blown into the shoals along South Manitou Island in 1960.

"Welcoming Rain" Mouth of the Miners river Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

This is my favorite shot of our recent trip to Pictured Rocks , not that it's a spectacular shot, but just for me personally. It had been HOT, and humid all day, when this cooling front moved in. The rain had just started to fall on the Miners river,... cooling things off, and I captured that moment.

"Wildflowers" Au Sable Point Lighthouse Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

I always find Au Sable Point Lighthouse a hard one to photograph... I don't have any photos of it I really love, but this one is pretty nice . The sun had just broke the horizon casting it's warm light. I walked the 1.5 mile trail in the dark to get to lighthouse for a sunrise.
