Big Sable Point Lighthouse - Ludington , Michigan

Via Flickr:
This Beautiful Lighthouse sits close to the shore of Lake Michigan's Ludington State Park. It's a two mile hike to see Big Sable, so bring a flashlight if you plan to see a sunset.  This Michigan Lighthouse is in a beautiful location tucked in along side Lake Michigan's rolling dunes.

I good tip if your planing to visit Big Sable for a photography shoot is to load your bicycle up and take it with you. Vehicles are not allowed and it is about a two mile hike.  The hike is great but if you stay late and shoot the sunset it's a pretty dark walk back

As always if you have any questions about visiting this Lighthouse or any other photography related
questions, just drop me a line jmphotography@casair.net

"Night Lights" Mackinac Bridge Mackinaw City Michigan.

Via Flickr:
The Mackinac Bridge (pronounced /ˈmækɨnɔː/, MAK-in-aw), is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the  Upper and Lower peninsulas of  Michigan. Planned since the 1880s, the bridge was completed in 1957 only after many decades of struggles to begin construction. Designed by engineer David B. Steinman, the bridge known as "Big Mac" and "Mighty Mac") connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south. It is the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western hemisphere. The Mackinac Bridge carries Interstate 75 across the straits.

"Sunset silhouette" Grand Haven Lighthouse - Grand Haven , Michigan

Via Flickr:
Dozens of people line the pier at Grand Haven to watch this beautiful sunset.
Grand Haven is located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Grand River, for which it is named.

If you want to capture a Michigan Lighthouse with huge waves crashing on it  for a dramatic photograph , this is a great one to do it at.   I took this photo at grand Haven last fall during gale force winds in excess of 60mph.

You can see my complete Michigan Lighthouse slide show  here.

Bond Falls is on the middle branch of the Ontonagon river just a few miles east of Paulding Michigan , in southern Ontonagon County. "Michigan's Paradise" Lake Superior , Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Via Flickr:
If you have never taken this hike along Michigan's Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore , and you are able and willing , you wont regret it if you do. Michigan is amazing and this hike is second to none in my opinion.

We have been hiking this area for over 30 years. This is also a top spot for Great Lakes Kayaking.  Some of the most beautiful sea caves arches and coves can be seen by kayaking Pictured Rocks.

If you enjoy waterfalls , at the west entrance to pictured rocks is the hilly picturesque little town of Munising .  The Munising area has several waterfalls that are easily accessed.   Munising FallsWagner Falls , Scott Falls  to name a few.
