Presque Isle river (Potholes) Porcupine Mountains State Park

These interesting curved shapes carved into the rock on the Presque isle river are photographed by lots of photographers each year. I haven't been here when the light was optimal, or when the water levels were just right, having some water flow over each pothole. I've been there early spring when the water is so high it goes complete
ly over them, hiding the curves. This year we had drought conditions so some of the potholes had no water at all. Still though, very beautiful and picturesque . One of the most beautiful locations in Michigan.
